Still In Progress...

Bathroom remodel still in progress, but we are getting very close to completion!  This past few days have been filled with creating the right hardware for the cabinets ($1.50 metal pulls I found at Hobby Lobby and spray painted/distressed), tiling the floors (Durango stone in a pretty Versailles pattern), and getting way too excited about my new shower curtain!  Still on the "to do" list: grout the tile, put up the beadboard wainscot and trim, touchup paint...  Hope to share the "After" pics soon!

Girl's Night Quilt Party

The other night my friend and fellow artist, Lauren had us over to her house for "Girl's Night."  We decided to get crafty and do a little something for a great cause, make quilt blocks for Anna Maria's Rainbow Around the Block Project.  We had a great time, and in fact are now in talks of starting an old school quilting bee... (photos above were snagged from Lauren...don't you love her dog Vince wearing his man scarf and posing with all of us girls ?!)

Home Inspiration File

So the bathroom remodel project is still trucking along and I'm hoping to have some pictures to share very soon!  In the meantime my gears have also been turning about redoing the bedroom.  That's just the way my brain works- before I finish one thing I'm already on to the other.  It drives the Hubs nuts, but I really can't help it!  Anyway, I've been browsing through my "Home Inspiration" folder that I keep on my desktop and putting together images of my dream bedroom.  Here are a few images that I really, really love and have inspired me to attempt a custom headboard for my next DIY project!

Aren't these wooden headboards are TDF?!  They are so simple in design but make such a statement.

Ok, to top off the look I think I must have this bedding... After receiving my shower curtain in the mail I am in love with Anthropologie even more now which I really didn't think was possible... not to mention I just signed a contract for some new licensed products (yay!!!) so I think a reward like dreamy new bedding is in order...  we shall see...

Demo In Progress

Hubs and I are in the midst of remodeling our bathroom (that's him up there playing air guitar with the broom).  What started out as a couple of minor changes has turned into a much bigger undertaking as most remodeling projects do.  It all started when part of the nasty "popcorn" ceiling had started to crumble so we decided to scrape it all off.  Then we decided to remove the wallpaper that I had painted over as a quick fix when we first moved in about 5 years ago.  Well, under the first layer of wallpaper was another, and under that is a layer of paper is paint that is peeling in patches and very uneven.  So... now it looks like spackle and sandpaper are in my near future.  But so are a beadboard wainscot and my dream shower curtain so I really can't complain!  Hope to share "after" pictures within the next week or two so stay tuned!
